[I met Davida Tolsen when I was freshly hired on as the Post 6 photographer, but because SL played hide and seek with her bio, she has been patiently waiting in the wings all this time, and ironically, making these both the latest and the earliest of my Post 6 pictures. Davida is charming and fun and full of surprises, as you'll see, and it was a great pleasure and honor to meet her, and I really hope I've done her justice -Timothy Morpork]
My name is Davida Tolsen. My sl age is 19, or that's what I like to tell people. They tend to not believe it as they get to know me better though. The first time I logged into SL was probably about five years ago, if memory serves me right, but it didn't stick. I ran kicking and screaming, got dragged back a few times, until mid 2007 when a close friend got me to stay. And, well, I have been addicted since.
Most, err- well 95% of my SL revolves around my family, mainly my children.. I am a mother of 5, but we are talking of adopting another. And no, I dont have a herd of child avies always following me. My kids mean the world to me and I am one of those mothers where if you dont shut me up I will spend hours talking about my kids.
Getting me out of my house sometimes can be a hard thing since my world is family based- but I leave sometimes and will go shopping or take the kids places. We of course lean toward kid friendly things. Amusment parks, arcades. parks and anywhere we can fish or goof off. While at home we have heaps to do- board games, watch movies or the usual pull out a toy gun and fling random objects at each other
Building my avi up was a fun thing. My main look has grown and changed as my avi did, and sometimes I change a little, like into a vampire, as you see here. I used to be a chld avi myself but this is the look I am happy with now. Until I ran into Timothy I thought was rather average looking so YAY! thanks for the ego boost there. Hehe and I know some people will probably rip on how I look, but it's ok.

Maybe there are people out there who do this fake family thing without sin. If there are, I haven’t met any of them. Every “SL Family” I’ve seen is about some sort of Age-Play or Incest (or even both) fetish. And in truth, It wouldn’t surprise me if all “SL families” were just for ageplay. It’s sick and wrong,but these people will always tell you that they’re “not really age-playing”. But they are.

Just to put this out there. My Kids are quite simply my kids. Don’t try to judge me because you cant pull your mind out of the gutter and see there is more to SL then the dirty side. As far as the posing nude, I almost didn’t do this because of that fact but with the encouragement, support and love of my family I did because being picked to do this was a neat thing and even with the few small minded negative comments this will be a very cool thing i did in SL, something I would never do in RL.

First, for those of you accusing or implying I am age playing with my family i ask, no I beg you, report me to Linden Labs. Please do that to anyone you suspect of age-playing. I know I do.
Second, I am not insane. I do fully understand outside of SL the adults who play my children are actually adults. But while we are in the world of Second Life they are my children, and outside of SL they are very dear friends.
And third, I have to say how much I pity the few of you who automatically assume such things. To judge me or any of my family on our role play and say we would do such horrible and disgusting things shows where your minds actually are.

I think your av is very nice and the pictures well taken.
Not too sure about the whole family thing as im totally against child avatars simply because it does offer pedo’s an opertunity to indulge their sick minds potentially, that said I dont feel that this sort of thing is happening with this person at all but im afraid it will leave you open to attack.
As for modeling and kids I can not see the issue at all. Being a model is a job be it topless, naked, lingerie, cat walk and the many other types of models there are. That does not mean that you would show your children your pictures. So that comment is nonsense frankly unless you were doing something less than tasteful in modeling I realy can’t see the problem with most models pictures. After all visit Europe in summer and most women are topless and nudist beaches are quite common.

The Herald picks people for Post 6 usually not on their looks, but who can create the most drama and get the most attacking comments. For the record, Timothy has also picked a woman who looks like she weighs about 400 pounds, an anorexic skeleton girl, and a couple of shemales with horrifically oversized parts.
Basically, you’re here because the Herald decided a long time ago that creating drama is more profitable than avoiding it, and putting people who’re sure to be made fun of on the pedestal is all the better for attracting people to throw tomatoes.
Don’t expect any sympathy, the more you thrash and flail, the more amusement you provide for the commenters; and next time, research these things a bit more.

I believe that SL is a place for people with amazing imaginations to flourish and for those who forgot how to use theirs to possibly reopen their minds and lighten up a bit. I feel that no matter where you go in SL there will be people that play kid avis or be a part of an SL family that are in it for the wrong purposes. There are also those who will play a kid avi or be apart of an sl family that are there for completely normaly reasons that have nothing to do with the things off ill-nature that people suggest. I personally do not know Davida Tolsen or her family.I would suggest for those who don’t know her to take some time and get to know her and see her around her family. Not everyone in sl is some weirdo.
Davida, I would not worry about this nonsense. If your on the up and up then just let it roll off your shoulders. Most often those people who assume,judge, and have all that anger and hate slung at you are just dealing with issues from being violated as a child in their real lives perhaps.

So many things to respond to but first I want to say, none of this is really shocking me having been a child Avi and being around them for so long. This isnt upsetting me. Im not sitting at my computer crying because someone who doesnt know doesnt approve of how I play my SL. I didnt jump into doing this without thinking about it. I did read up on past past Post 6 Grrrl’s, I did talk about it with my family and it took me about a week to agree to do it.
The comments about brother, he plays an adult Avi. And we kid around alot. People take things way to seriously. That you have never said something in a silly way? come on pull the sticks out of your collective asses.
Calling me a “hoochie neko-vampire-clubber” is a joke right? The first picture is the type of clothes I wear. The other two pictures weere kind of like “oh crap” moments. I really had to inventory dive to find anything and then it was “Oh yeah I got this as a freebie”
What I find more ironic in all this is people trying to claim Im crazy while they try to hunt down my family members and harrass them. You have my name. You have an issue with me feel free to message me directly. No I will not let anyone who has a problem with this come to my home and meet my children. I wouldnt do that to them.
Yes my lifestyle is different. Sorry I dont find much amusement sitting in a club talking about random drama with people. To me that feels like a chat room with music where you can still try and judge people for how they are dressed and how they look. Been there done that. So thats me speaking from experience, not just one night in some random club but working as a hostess in a club for about 4 months. If I find out about anybody who is harassing her, her family, or anybody because YOU have to judge her by your petty box minded ways, you will promptly find my size 14 boot up your narrow ass.
I’d wager that half the people who made the effort, if you can call it that, to bash my friend are indeed guilty of some form of moral indecency their selves. Those are usually the ones who would shoot first and ask questions. Funny how the people always nagging about others taking sl too seriously make a 180 turn and whine about how people like this girl are so messed up and weird, in the process taking her family roleplay very seriously and making all sorts of assumptions. While she and herself probably take sl not serious at all and are just having fun.
