Worlds Collide at Virtual Pet Memorial Service

Danny06 Aya is a grown up guy in First Life, but in Second Life he’s a boy. His real life typist suffers from a traumatic brain injury (TBI), and it seems likely that his avatar reflects the true state of the way he experiences his life. When Danny06 Aya’s dog Cassie Jo died in First Life at the end of March, Danny was crushed. But his Second Life friends understood his sorrow and did what they could to keep him up.
Danny’s friend Vito Rossini runs the Dogland Park in SL, and Danny got a job there. Since Mr. Rossini is a surviver of TBI himself, Danny and him became so close that Danny started to call Mr. Rossini uncle, and to console his "nephew" and help him to handle his loss, Mr. Rossini called in a memorial service for Danny’s lost dog.

The memorial service in honour of Cassie Jo was held at Dogland Park March 26th and more than 30 friends attended the service – but when a prayer was passed to all attendents, a group of six griefers popped in. Herald readers might recall the name Rabis (Rabid) Barkley who along with Bebbs Socke, CensoredMy Lunt, Syluxe Zhao, Mantanee McMillan and Zac Wilcke are named and shamed in a machinima of the event.
The prominent motto "Live or let live", calling for tolerance and understanding, apparently looked out of place to Mr. Barkley when he encountered the memorial service, so he had a fine excuse to adopt to his common pattern of causing grief with disrespectful and insulting remarks, mostly issued on voice to avoid chatlogs that might provide evidence, without thinking twice about the background of the event he intendet to disrupt.
It didn’t take long before Mr. Barkley was asked to leave Dogland Park, which gave himt his chance to play his next card. Barkley plays a black avi and loves to mourn about a "black man" getting bossed around, while all he’s doing is to discredit blacks in general with his abusive behaviour by pointing out all the time that he’s a black man.

Danny06 Aya, playing a black boy, wasn’t impressed at all. But he was shocked by Mr. Barkley’s behaviour, as was a friend, Freeta Kayo. But Miss Kayo was far from being paralized. Mrs. Kayo is a skilled machinima artist and capture Mr. Barkley by reaching for her camera and shooting a video of a portion of this incident.
From a distance, this disrupted memorial service is just another episode in the ongoing battle between rezidents who treat SL seriously and those for whom the metaverse is a game. However, a closer look might reveal some hidden facets. Facets that might become a call and encouragement for mutual respect and understanding.

That creature might have been a lover, a friend, your mother or father. Or some kind of partner. And if you are truly human and managed to rise to your potential, your ability to love is not restricted to those of your kind. It could embrace other creatures as well.
Rabid Barkley didn’t log in after this incident. Multiple AR’s were reported on him after the incident – was he was banned or suspended by Linden Labs? Or did he realize that he took his game play a step too far? Well, Barkley, can you hear me?
For this reporter and any other common rezident, griefers are only clowns, providing entertainment to rezidents who know they can’t be really harmed in SL. I’d like to see you back and amuse us with your folly. Just make sure that you don’t try to hurt someone who might really feel hurt, ok?

iIwas expecting much more “drama” , what a let down, doesnt look like much to me. granted its in bad taste, but it is a game. Some of you forget that.

I don’t think there is a kinder person in SL than Vito Rossini. He does so much to help stroke & TBI patients. Contrast that to griefers, who need to be permanently IP banned in SL.

Sorry for your loss, but maybe you can learn from this by using the tools provided to have a virtual memorial service an invite only event.
As you know who should be attending, friends of friends e.t.c you should have sent out invites before holding the event.
Use scripts in on rez invite cards and the group allowed list to keep out people who seek to disrupt your events.

Very simple to have a script register someone for an event, and list their name on the land allowed list for 24 hours, before reopening it to public.

This guy shouldn’t be on SL in the first place, because its not a pony farm. Its really sad, if you hand some piece of technology to the avarage and lower ppl – they start using it for the sole purpose of making each others life miserable. But if there is nothing you can do about, staying away from it is the solution.

I have been taking a look at some of Rabid’s items on the web. All garbage, as is the heart soul, and conscience, of this man. I would not be surprised, if he was not really black at all. I would not be shocked to learn that he was a bigot, playing a black man, with the goal of making us all look bad.

“Disclosure” is only a violation, when bringing RL information, or emails, or comments INTO sl.
Bringing content, or names no matter how defamatory, into rl from SL is NOT a violation of Community Standards, or TOS.
I personally checked with Linden Labs, and they verified, that they have nothing to do with, and do not care about us bringing info and harsh truth into RL!

Those that are residents, that may consider SL a game, likely utilize RL as a game too.
SL is an extension of our RL selves.
If all you find in SL is “game”… perhaps you should start exploring sl, and find something personally meaningful to you.

Second, for the event to cause ill things brought out of avatars, just goes to show how sad of a missing life they have.

Simply said, anything that Rabid, Sylauxe, their crew, friends, and supporters have no credibility with any of their comments, as negated by all their past actions as conscious less pranksters, villains, and probably RL bad behavior. Readers, just look up their profiles and see what kind of people they are, and also look up the players in the memorial event. Dogland is reputable and so is Millennium as the story’s writer. Sylauxe’s and Rabid’s comments above, btw Wassup is Rabid are twisting what happened because they were cold handedly caught griefing the memorial. There was absolutely no racism at the memorial event, but their own words are caustic with it. This is Rabid’s MO, what he does, fictitiously lies that there is racism where there has been none. Dogland has nothing to do with racism nor animal sex, which in particular Rabid and his cohorts keep bringing up. I mention this because Rabid told Danny at the memorial “yo dog died cause you yiffed it to death”. Rabizzle1 aka Rabid also made that same comment on the YouTube page where the griefer video is posted. They do so because that is what they do, have sex with animals. Again check their groups in search and you will all learn a lot about who is credible. Also look at who they are associated, W-hat, Digital Worlds and Woodbury University in SL, known griefer havens. Woodbury in particular associated to 4/chan a file sharing forum on the internet who has been linked to terrorism and as a means for distributing child pornography. Yeah, the Linden’s allow groups like this in SL. 4/chan was banned by AT&T and Verizon btw.
If you are a bad evil person in SL, you are in RL, no distinctions between the two, same person hitting the keyboard keys.
There is no reasoning or logic with Rabid, Sylauxe, and all their crew, because their reasoning and logic is failed. Their posting here is just to fan the flames of hatred, disinformation, and all part of their propaganda.

I’m also black and I have nothing against how Bebbs acted during this event. SL is run by a majority of white people, we blacks only want our voices heard in a community of people too introverted to give us any heed in RL.
Next time you want to post some comment about how blacks act as if RL is a “game”, think about what you’re posting, think about how insensitive you are, and think about how if you weren’t taking SL so seriously, you might be able to pay more attention to your first life instead.
