Islamist Gangs Terrorize Facebook!

The biggest MMO of them all – Facebook – is being terrorized by gangs of Islamists, filing mass abuse reports against those they target for removal according to ReadWriteWeb. Using tactics similar to those of the Justice League Unlimited, a notorious Second Life vigilante group, the Islamists "single out users they consider ideologically unorthodox (a broad category indeed by their definition) and then using Facebook’s public ban process to stop their mouths" according to ReadWriteWeb, who’s French editor was targetted.
The report goes on to say the problems started "when groups and fanpages became public allowing those guys to make some list of profiles to be harassed on Facebook, taking advantage of a loophole in Facebook’s crowd-sourced moderation process when it comes to banning profiles: if a few dozen members alert Facebook about one profile as being a fake, it is automatically deactivated".
We wonder if this was the sort of emergent behaviour Facebook expected when they embarked on what seems to be an ongoing program of making more and more private information public. As for gangs of griefers in online social media, this must have been expected – look at the history of The Sims Online.

I don’t condone torture but it starting to seem like a “death by a thousand cuts” for the JLU situation. As for Islamists well Prokofy has started using Islamist terms to describe certain topics, and I would not ever recommend she should stand up against Islamists.

Due to the fact all her information is public after years of griefing and arguing, and do we really want Prokofy driving Islamic fundamentalists into Second Life to become the new griefers and dragging us all down with her?.
It’s bad enough in real life without it creeping into Second Life and considering you only need to take a glace at Pat Condell’s Godless Comedy feedback page, to realise you would be out of your mind to risk posting anything that drives traffic from them.

Quite right, esp given her location in NYC, the fact that most islamists can’t seem to venture far beyond the Hudson (Ft Hood and underwear bomber exceptions), she’s a sitting duck up there on the East Side. But don’t put down Prok, given her vitriol, I wouldn’t be surprised if she could spit venom like a cobra.
