HAWLY Fang — Post 6 Grrrrrl

by Alphaville Herald on 14/10/10 at 10:18 am

[HAWLY Fang IM'd me ages ago about appearing as a Post 6 Grrrl, and I responded with something that I've long since forgotten but we never got around to meeting for a shoot. Eons passed, I had forgotten her, and then the other day, just as I was looking for a Post 6 Grrrl, HAWLY said hi. I am pleased to introduce this week's Post 6 Grrrl, HAWLY Fang ~Timothy Morpork]

hawly fang

Hello Readers ,

Well, my name is HAWLY Fang. I first heard about SL from my best friend and cheerleading sister and I have loved every moment of it (almost, lol). I spend most of my SL time chatting with friends and enjoying their company, dancing, swimming and having sex.

The things I like the most about SL is meeting all the different people from different countries from around the world and getting to know about their lives and what they like to do in SL. I guess I am a bit of a hobby robber- I see what they like and see if I’ll like it too. Weird probably, but hey it makes it work for me.

hawly fang

Some of the groups I belong to kinda show a few of my interests in SL (of course, lol). I am a member of a naked Greedy game group, which is really fun- the game that is, lol. Strangely enuff, most of the games go on for about 2 hours- till someone wins. I also have been going to a babysitting group which has really given me a look at different people- haven’t seen too many babies though. And like most, I am part of the dance club and beach groups which I find to be great places to not only meet different people but also to get away from the daily grind that sl can become, lol. And yes like a lot of people in SL, I am a member of a few naughty groups :-)

hawly fang

And now for the topic everyone wants to know about- SEX in SL lol. Yes I do enjoy it a lot and happen to do it just about once every time I am in-world. I know to some that might seem bad but I really do enjoy it and you would be surprised how many men in SL use the same lines and same way of having sex in SL. Now to me that is just amazing to us ladies lol.

Well thanks for reading and be kind in your comments, lol.

H.F.

Timothy ran an unfortunate filter on the second photo.

Seems like a nice enough girl. I wish some of these girls would step away from the black eyeliner, though. It’s a cheap look, particularly when they’ve put a little thought into other aspects of their avvies.

What a richly full and varied life you must lead . . .

“you would be surprised how many men in SL use the same lines and same way of having sex in SL.”

No . . . no, I don’t think most of us would be surprised at all. At least, not if you are focusing your in-world experiences on places where you are likely to be “doing it” at least once every time you log in.

Now y’all stop the presses rite here. You ain’t met no hillbilly men if’n you says stuff like “men in SL use the same lines and same way of having sex in SL,”

I ain’t no typikul feller. I gots me some dang original lines I uses on gals…they am what the feller that time called “the direct route” and they works miracles (it don’t hurt none that I are smart, rich, an’ handsum too):

“Yo’ shack o’ mine, hunny-bun? Git on over here.”

“Wants to see my coleckshun o’ dead animuls? Git on over here.”

“Turtle, dawg, o’ muskrat luvin’ today, gal? Git the hell on over here.”

“I are bigger’n a gate post an’ reddy fo’ yo’ lovin gal! Gitty up on over here!”

“It ain’t fell off from no horrible ailment yet, so I reckons it are still good fo’ one mo’ roll in the hay. Git over here rite now!”

My inclination is to use the Post 6 articles as less an endorsement for recognition and more a recommendation for extermination. Too bad there isn’t an equivalent presence in SL to deal with the blingtard infestation like Sandmen (Logan’s Run) or a good old fashioned Ted Bundy. Perhaps the same “presence” could be used to remove faux Hillbillies from the planet. Sorry, Buddy Ebsen, Irene Ryan and Max Bayer (sp?) did a better job of it 40 years ago.

Gawd, sex is the LAST thing about SL that interests me. It’s been so over hyped and overdone, it’s boring. And most of the men I’ve run into that troll for it are creepy newbies that really need to find a better hobby. Or at least some better pick up lines that don’t make them automatically come off as a major douchebag.

To some degree, I really feel rather badly about this. There is nothing “wrong,” intrinsically, with how Hawley chooses to use Second Life. Ok, it’s extraordinarily limited and limiting, and would bore the daylights out of me after, I don’t know, one hour or so . . . but it’s hardly “evil” or dangerous or harmful, or even distasteful.

The problem isn’t *really* with Hawley. It’s that Hawley doesn’t really belong here because, frankly, she has nothing to say. She’s just not very . . . interesting. Or if she is, she has opted not to demonstrate it. And that would be cool, except that she is being offered up here as someone who is *supposed* to be “interesting.”

In that sense, I feel a bit like Hawley was led here as a sort of lamb to the slaughter.

So, we’re back to the old refrain again. We have been treated to some pretty articulate people here recently, and I’ve enjoyed that. Maybe we are spoiled now? But honestly, we *do* need something of more substance here than so-so pics of naked boobs and butts, to make this feature worthwhile.

    Scylla-

Who appointed you arbiter of things interesting?

    For example:
I bet you listen to NPR. I’d rather cut my wrists than listen to NPR. I bet you find it “interesting” while most of America finds it dull. Personally I find its pseudo-intellectual pandering to be annoying.

Most of the world finds sex interesting. The human species is sort of wired to- like we’re wired to breathe and eat. Just because your wiring is all fubar doesn’t mean the rest of us should like the same shows you do.

Frankly, I find your offhand dismissal of all things sexual, and your subsequent dismissal of the people who like sex, to be incredibly arrogant. Your basic premise is “I am a superior being because I say so, you like sex, you’re lowly, bring on someone that interests me.”

The flaw here is that you’re the 1%, not them.

    hello hawly:
i am aware that the majority is calling you vacuous and simple. i like you.
bear in mind this crowd is not very discerning. they dont actually read what you say, and compose critique from some viewpoint already established that cannot be assailed.
last year i was a post sixx and i tried to discuss the economy and what bush and obama have done to us with entitlements and bailouts. i swear nobody read my thesis. i was called a right wing fanatic and stoopid and other nice things. people were saying they dont agree with me, but were amazed i could actually talk. so the preponderance of this audience thinks we should go more deeply in debt as a nation and print money to lower the dollars value so we can pay off that debt with cheaper dollars. or, gosh, who knows since no one ever actually addressed my point at all.
so take heart. most here dont read what you have to say at all.
basically, the commenters here are not saying anything about you, its all about them and their own agenda.
for example, i just wrote one on your page regarding my own agenda. lol.

  18. Scylla Rhiadra

    Oct 15th, 2010

Dear Wonky . . . (may I call you that? Thanks!)

No one has appointed me “arbiter” of anything. Like everyone else here, I merely state opinion. That, as I take it, is what these comments are for. Who, one might respond, appointed YOU arbiter of whether or not I like sex? Well, you will (I’m sure) be enormously relieved to hear that I actually kind of like it. In fact, I *really* like sex. It’s fun. Heck, it’s often even interesting!

But I defy you to find anything “interesting” about Hawley’s characterization of it here. Perhaps her personal experience of sex in Second Life is *fascinating*; maybe it’s a nonstop ride of thrills, chills, and thunderous orgasms. But you’d never know it from what she says about it here, would you? And frankly, unless it IS interesting, I don’t really think there’s a lot of point in telling us about it.

  19. Scylla Rhiadra

    Oct 15th, 2010

    (cont’d . . .)

What we get from Hawley here is that . . . surprise surprise . . . she likes sex! And she does it a lot! WHOOT WHOOT!!! Enormously enlightening and interesting, isn’t it?

Think of it this way: I may have been listening to an endlessly *wonderful* show on NPR last night, dissecting the phenomenon of people who respond to blog postings without reading what they are responding to very carefully. It may have been the most *fabulous* radio broadcast ever! But if all I have to say about it is . . . “I do enjoy radio shows a lot and listen to them every time I turn on the radio,” I’m not really telling you much of interest, am I?

My point was not that sex is not interesting. It was that Hawley isn’t.

    Scylla-

    You said this;
“The problem isn’t *really* with Hawley. It’s that Hawley doesn’t really belong here because, frankly, she has nothing to say.”

Could you turn up the condescending a little louder? We can’t hear you from the Ivory tower.

Also, I learned about Naked Greedy. I have friends that play Greedy, they might want to know about it. I’ve never learned anything from the millions of words you’ve written. Point Hawly.

Also, it IS interesting that most SL guys type the same things when having sex. Point Hawly

Dear Wonks (sooooo much nicer than “Wonky,” dontcha think?)

Congratulations on having discovered that Hawley’s post is, indeed, a veritable MINE of information. Soooo, let’s see. We have learned that 1) there is a game called “Naked Greedy. 2) It is “fun.” 3) It lasts 2 hours sometimes! Well, that pretty much fills up one of my notebooks. I’d better grab another . . .

We’ve also learned that “many men in SL use the same lines and same way of having sex in SL.” Of course, what this implies is that some men don’t. I hope they are holding the presses on new edition of Masters and Johnson so that they can include *that* little tidbit! What could be next? That most men like to climax during sex?!?!?!?

I *am* sorry to hear that you don’t find my posts interesting. I’ll work on that for next time; maybe something about types of bait and lure? Perhaps you have a barbed wire collection, and would like me to expand upon that subject? I know how hungry you are for “interesting” information, so just let me know!

Actually, could you whip up an essay for me on what you think Mary Wollstonecraft, EC Stanton, SB Anthony, Victoria Woodhull, Betty Friedan and Gloria Steinem would say vis-a-vis the way spoiled college girls have taken feminism to the point of absurdity? Please?

So I’m going to be the kind of gurl that U clearly like to read about!!!!

    Um . . . did I mention that I LUVS sex???? And that I play Naked Snakes and Ladders . . . ?

And after I’ll offer a rebuttal of any praise she offers with a discussion of the theories and arguments of Camille Paglia and Cathy Young.

Just so no one forgets that not all feminists are anti-sex conformists, intolerant of individual liberty and turning feminism into a huge embarrassment.

  27. Scylla Rhiadra

    Oct 16th, 2010

Oh, I’m far from anti-sex, Persephone. Everyone has the right to engage in dull mechanical cybering with as many faceless men employing “the same lines and same way of having sex” as he or she desires. Personally, I prefer to engage in it with someone who isn’t cutting and pasting emotes from a particularly illiterate porn site . . . but hey, that’s just me! Live and let live, I say.

As for anti-liberty? Not at all. I’ll defend to the death anyone’s right to be as publicly vacuous as they like.

Just as I’m sure you’d defend MY right to criticize a mindless waste of screen space like this page.

    Right?

Wait, wait! I thought feminism was about getting over your fear of flying and piloting that plane wherever you wanted it to go? Who said it was anti-sex? You've been listening to talk radio for too long.

    @Scylla

  30. Scylla Rhiadra

    Oct 16th, 2010

AM, there are snakes EVERYWHERE! On the plane, at the gym, in the bar . . .

  31. Persephone Bolero

    Oct 16th, 2010

    @Scylla “Oh, I’m far from anti-sex, Persephone.”

Yes, you’re all for sex, unless consenting adults are role playing power relationships, in which case you claim they’re causing rape. So, you’re all for sex so long as people aren’t doing it in any way that puts a woman in a submissive position, even if she is choosing that position and enjoying it. Because…then they’re causing rape.

“I’ll defend to the death anyone’s right to be as publicly vacuous as they like.”

I was more referring to other criticisms you’ve offered here in the past in relation to rape fantasies and D/s. I agree with your assessment in this case. But your connection between consensual behavior and rape is far more vacuous than anything Hawly wrote. And these kinds of hysterics, of which that is but one small example, are common throughout your feminist school of thought. And that school has greatly hurt feminism in general.

Fortunately, what needed to be achieved by the movement was achieved before your ilk strangled it.

  32. Persephone Bolero

    Oct 16th, 2010

@AM Oderngrl “Who said it was anti-sex?”

Andrea Dworkin and Catharine MacKinnon, amongst others.

  33. Scylla Rhiadra

    Oct 16th, 2010

Persephone, you’ve read enough of what I’ve said before here, and perhaps elsewhere, to know that you have grossly misstated my views.

I have NEVER argued that D/s or BDSM role play “causes” rape. Never.

I have argued that their *public* (*not* their private) expression can contribute to the propagation of misogynist attitudes and rape myths that certainly are *part* of the cultural and social causes of sexual assault, abuse, and sexism. As for personal, private D/s role play, as I have said often enough here, in I think almost precisely these words: you can’t legislate fantasy, nor should one want to.

On the other hand, what we do in *public* constitutes a public statement, and while I do not want to “legislate” against, say, dragging a female sub around on a chain in a public mall, you can bet that if I see it, I *will* make my feelings about such a public display of misogyny, consensual or not.

  34. Scylla Rhiadra

    Oct 16th, 2010

As for what was achieved by 2nd Wave feminism, I’ll be the first to praise its accomplishments. But to suggest that feminism’s work is “done,” while women even in the developed world continue to earn substantially less for doing the same work as men, and have 4 to 5 times the risk of being murdered by the partners that men do, would seem a tad premature.

Most interesting is why you feel it necessary to bring all of this up here and now, when you admit yourself that you agree with my “assessment” in this particular case. I have nowhere mentioned violence, submission, or rape here, nor do I see that they are issues in this case. So why raise them?

Or is the mere appearance of my name in conjunction with the word “sex” enough to set you off?

  35. Persephone Bolero

    Oct 16th, 2010

@Scylla “I have NEVER argued that D/s or BDSM role play “causes” rape. Never.I have argued that their *public* (*not* their private) expression can contribute to the propagation of misogynist attitudes and rape myths that certainly are *part* of the cultural and social causes of sexual assault, abuse, and sexism.”

So, in other words, you haven’t argued that D/s causes rap3, except when you have have. Or more precisely, it doesn’t cause rap3. It’s a contributing factor in the cause of some rap3s. Oh, that’s totally different.

And as I’ve pointed out (several times), that’s pure and utter bullshit. The proliferation of p.0rn0graphic material in society, including D/s and rap3-fantasy ma.terial at a time when s3xual assault is on the decline suggests that there’s no relationship between the consumption of p0rn0graphic ma.terial and rape, even extreme p.0rn0graphy.

“On the other hand, what we do in *public* constitutes a public statement, and….I *will* make my feelings about such a public display of misogyny, consensual or not.”

Great, then when I see you engaging in this moralistic self-righteous judgmental behavior of activities between consenting adults, then I *will* make my feelings known.

Mind you, I’m not suggesting we use any legislation to silence you. Instead, I’m hoping that through the same kinds of social pressure and shaming techniques you use to condemn others, we can shut you the hell up.

We will socially ostracize and condemn you personally every time you engage in this perfectly legal speech that really doesn’t hurt anyone, as well as anyone that supports you. Oh, but to encourage others to view you as a threat and join me in our crusade, we’ll use some specious reasoning that your speech is somehow causing violence and coercion against some group of people. We’ll have all kinds of anecdotes of exceptional violent nutcases that thought like you and methodologically flawed science to create the illusion of a causal relationship between what you’re doing and some harm against women that enjoy submissiv3 fantasi3s with other consenting adults. And then, when people look down on you for your personal choices and condemn you for them, maybe you’ll come to realize just how your medicine tastes when you swallow a big spoonful of it.

But remember, I’m not trying to take away your liberty. I’m just expressing my opinion.

  36. Persephone Bolero

    Oct 16th, 2010

@Scylla “Or is the mere appearance of my name in conjunction with the word “sex” enough to set you off?”

Like I said, I’m just expressing my opinion. I just want you to realize the horrible harms you are causing people by engaging in this personal choice, and then, hopefully you’ll make better choices.

    See? It’s not so bad.
