Viewer 2.2 Released, Interim CEO Departs, Metaverse Yawns

A few Second Life players were distracted from an announced update to the controversial new Second Life viewer 2 by news that Philip Linden – Linden Lab founder, CEO, former CEO, and for the last 4 months acting CEO – will be spending more time starting up his LoveMachine, effective immediately.
While most players carefully studied Esbee Linden’s announcement posted at 4:37 this afternoon in hopes that the ill-fated Second Life client might show some signs of improvement, a few residents noted a post from Philip Linden released 9 minutes earlier.

Was Philip’s new avatar to blame for his departure? Herald researchers point out that the game god has not been detected in-world over the last 9 days.
too embarassed to play? Philip Linden has not been in-world recently
The consensus view seems to be that after spending 4 months in his role as interim CEO, Philip probably should have been more careful to avoid offending Esbee and considered releasing his announcement at 3 or 4 am to avoid upsetting players with news about changes in his position as the on-again, off-again leader of the Lab.
Although the machinations of the Lab’s leadership may be a cause for concern, committed players continue to invest significant time online.

No Linden Employee do anything about copybot unless a person is distributing content/selling, or copybotting it knowingly. I know this because I have logged into a copybot every day for over 1 year, have not been banned, and I have test copybotted a few other things without consent in my inventory full perm freebies using asset data and spoofing hacks. I did not get banned when this was tested on an alt.
Khael is no longer here no one is watching the Sandboxes no one cares about SL anymore.
I am no longer in SL actively monotirong thefts for creators as much because of Skills Hak, he has caused me so many problems, and why should I waste my time in SL when this person has done nothing but attack so many people without reason, and the Thieves are taking over the grid. The problem is LL simply does not care or do anythign about this person, or any copybotter, I have obviously proven this. What Emerald did, and got by with was also proof of this. Yes I still report ripped content but only when I see it, and based on my rules of if the creator is actually nice, and respectful, and does not use CDS systems.
In fact no one cares for creators anymore, and a message to you all.
You Better find Real Jobs Fast… SL is Sinking…
And Yes Hitler had a few good points in things he did I believe, not saying it was right.

Also I talked to Khael he seemed nice, although I did never agree with his superman thing he did in the sandboxes. It honestly looked gay in my opinion. I also really do not know why he made such a big deal over the wiki leaks who cares, all that info should be public anyways lol.

Philip didn’t want to go down in the history books as being the CEO when Linden Lab pulled the plug. The rats are jumping ship. Now he can tell his grandchildren that it was a great business until someone else took over as CEO and ran into the ground.

I haven’t really spoken to Kalel much, in fact they all ignore me with the exception of GLE. Although I have had a few passing emails recently. I actually offered to correct many of their wiki faults. But no reply as yet.
Still, no surprise Ol’ Phil is still working on his kink farm. Let him have it, better than staying on a sinking ship. I do believe he is hoping for an offer of stoopid amounts so he can get rid.
Although I do have to chuckle at the way it is all coming apart. The Lab now realises the more they do the worse it gets. So now they do nothing.

I hereby tender my candidacy to take over as CEO of Linden Lab. I have the requisite executive, entrepreneurial, and technology experience, and am used to operating a business when the de facto state does its best trying to make conducting business impossible. I also have a proven track record dealing with and mitigating griefers. Best of all, provided my salary is in the sufficiently high six figures, plus stock options, I may even consider dropping my lawsuit against your company.
I am sure that I will gain the support of significant constituencies which have previously been very critical of LL, and will make customer satisfaction and expansion of the game economy my number one priorities.
BTW: nice crotchless pants.

Wasn’t Skills Hak a Griefer for using CDS to illegally spy and datamine residents? Isn’t he also the one with Ph0x, Fractured, JCool & All of Emerald who got Woodbury removed because they posted their datamine info public? If I am not mistaking which I am sure I not the only reason Skills Hak is still here is because he generates a large income for Linden Lab. But they know, and are aware of all his TOS Violations.
Also If I am considered a griefer Simply because I did not agree with these guys ways, or because I Hate Copybotters who rip innocent creators not including those who violate the TOS with CDS systems, or because I use custom third party viewers, then so be it.

It doesn’t matter that laws were broken, they’re way too busy spying on all the would-be jihadis and wanna be Osamas and RL paedophreaks (furrys included). If you feel you’ve been victimized by criminal acts in SL, the first place you should be going is your local police department. Once they get done laughing at you, if they are a particularly overstaffed and non-busy police department, they may see your case as a convenient reason to expand their remit. Especially if they have a fat computer budget to justify to voters.

Actually the FBI has been in SL on several occasions looking for underage kids getting involved with content that they shouldn’t be involved with. Most sweeps are conducted during the summer months when kids are at home on summer break and their parents are at work
. You can be assured that once the teens are allowed in Second Life, that the FBI’s presence will be increased.
Does anyone recall the TOS update back in 2008 that had you acknowledge that people in Second Life could be under the age of 18 and that Linden Labs was powerless to keep them out?
Right Linden Labs got bit on the ass over an underage incident and along came Zindra.

I can tell “had enough” that the FBI, for a fact, as General Drama says, “doesn’t give two shits about SL”. They told me so themselves. Unless there are people getting killed or RL terrorist plots being conspired here, they really don’t give two shits and have a lot more important crap to deal with, to paraphrase the cybercrimes special agent I spoke to.
Zindra, in fact, was created in 2009 by Phillip based on a proposal I pitched to him at SLCC in Chicago in 2007, as the first step to merge the teen grid into SL. In my discussions with the lab at the time, at no time was any issues with the FBI mentioned.
The main legal problem that LL had wrt minors in 2007 was actually with the German government based on a sensationalist fake expose by Der Spiegel that claimed that there were hundreds of pedophiles in SL that the German government had arrested, when in fact, there are zero documented cases of any prosecutions of German pedophiles based on their activities in SL to this day. The German government was rather concerned with the issue based on the sensationalism and LL’s PR people were in a tizzy to hire someone who could nip that problem in the bud.

You have just passed the “malciousness” test that most libel suits fail on.
