[The other day I got a "Hey, you should meet....she'd be a great model for you" from a reader and I followed up and had the good luck to meet Magdalenamarie Cooperstone, the beautiful and intelligent avatar to whom our reader referred me. During her shoot, I also got to meet a half dozen other remarkable avatars that make up her friends and family, raising our tipster-reader to "Timothy's hero." While I hope Magdalenamarie will encourage her friends and family to join us as Post 6 Models, let me please first say that it is an honor to begin with the person around whom they all seem to revolve; it is a great pleasure to introduce Magdalenamarie as this week's Post 6 Grrl. ~Timothy Morpork]

I think of myself as the mother from “Malcolm in the Middle”, tough when I have to be, but there is never a moments question whether or not it’s out of love. I keep my SL family close to me, as if they were my RL family. Friends will come and go, you know someone is family when they are one of those people who come and don’t go. Those are the people I surround myself with.
I roleplay, medieval fantasy, and that is the roots which lead to my avatars look. I started out as a drow, a dark elve, but then married the king of the Elves, and became a High Elve. From there I ruled for a while, but all dawns must have a dusk. Soon night spread over that chapter of my life, and the day began to shine on the next chapter, and I moved on. I became the Demon Queen of Aglarond, and the look just sort of stuck with me. The purple hair, the purple eyes, the horns, they are all trademarks almost, they are who Magda is. It’s funny when I think back about it, Magdalena almost put herself together, I was just the hand moving the mouse around. She came into manifestation, and has remained the same since, going from fantasy to steam punk, to Victorian. Magdalena has made her name in these realms, and has since retired, that part of her story has finished. Now I spend my days with my wonderful sl husband.
I also have a couple alts for when I need an escape. They are each different parts of my personality, each one a shard of who I am sent out into virtual space to thrive. Each one makes their name in a different way, almost in an effort to match up to the name made by Magdalenamarie.

Medieval roleplayer with wings and a tail that considers her SL family to be equivalent to her RL one and spends all her time with her SL husband. Sappy write-up composed mostly of a paragraph quote that seems completely unrelated to the article (except for my attitude in this comment). Oh, and she wears a snake, has totally-black skin, tattoos, purple hair, horns, and is an elvish demon queen that also roleplays in steampunk and victorian sims. Two pictures with the same backgrounds hidden by messing with the windlight settings and the other in a corner of a room with a glow-obsessed light, an unframed painting of sorts with no contrast with the wall, and an Ouija board.
Christ. Sorry Timothy, but if this is the standard of people you work with, I don’t know if I want to be associated with these folk.

Mags you are wonderful no matter what color you are. Beautiful inside and out ! As an avid role player myself I find you quite imaginative and fun to interact with.. But then I know of half a dozen other demon and devil queens with almost exactly the same look. Two of them are close friends of mine and I’m sure both of them are far more interesting than Ms Cooperstone.

In the immortal words of Sgt. Hulka, “Lighten up, Francis.” She seems to be representing who she is in an honest and forthright manner and providing a glimpse of her personality and the life she leads here. Trying to demean her looks, invalidate her relationships with people in SL and critique the photos represented in this post seems both unwarranted and unnecessary, particularly from someone who has a vendor ad for a profile picture. If I was Timothy, I would take your desire to “not be associated with these folk” as a perfect opportunity to associate instead with people who would never post such a thing but would, perhaps, appreciate the time and effort involved in this post, and respect those involved and the work they do.

I am close friends with Magda, and honestly guys, you’re making horrible mistakes. You shouldn’t be judging her, she never said she was original. She’s different. You don’t see her everyday. No? Why all the negativity? For real? is that all you have to do? Come on, she put a lot of work into her avatar, and shes really proud of it, and its extremely well done. Why not say something nice, instead of try to rip someone else down, ya know? It’s sad to me that you feel the need to do something like that. Magda’s an awesome person, an even more amazing friend, and she’s deserved something like this for years. For those of you unfortunate enough not to know her, and those even more unfortunate enough to have made comments before you knew her, i feel badly for you.

Doing Post 6 is not too dissimilar to doing a public reading of the Lords Prayer at a Satanists ritual sacrifice convention after last orders at the bar on a Saturday night.
Timothy gave me a notecard to explain this to me before pictures were taken for my shoot, and i have no reason to think any other victim.. err.. Model, would have been treated any differently.

i know her since years by now. it was for sure not always easy with our relation. but i love her. her char changed so many times and yes, even if she was medieval, steampunk or what ever kind of bitch. she was mostly herself in all that time. and it is something not many can say about themselves. sl is a fantasy.. a place where ur dreams can come true and u can escape from reality. i think no matter what, she did a good job with her avatars and her lil world. to call her friends that stay close family and put her next or close to her rl is nothing bad imo. it just shows that she cares for those ppl that sit behind the screen. it is in all of us, rl is rl and as it says its real. sl is a thing u can live ur dreams. but it doesnt mean u have to be anonym when u do not feel like that.

While I agree with Nelson’s analysis of this Post 6, I have to say that his article a while ago was even worse. A furry who tries to distance himself from other furries by wearing a human penis and proclaiming he does not have a fursona is not special or unique. It’s extremely common.

I genuinely wish that infographic was true, but the study was conducted by, and for, furries. In fact, the statistics given seem to be from an internet survey with no limit on the number of submissions. What kind of furry would assure that sex is extremely important to them when they know full well that those results are going to be publicized, and their goal is to make the furry fandom less creepy? As for the art statistics, a lot of furry artists simply cannot draw adult art because 1.) they are too young and can’t submit it to FA, 2.) they don’t know how to draw dicks so they just stick to regular stuff, or 3.) they can’t draw for shit so just end up commissioning a few regular drawings, which they submit themselves. Not to mention a lot of adult artists spend a lot of time drawing PG art as well – sure, they don’t draw cocks 100% of the time, but the bottom line is they are involved in the furry porn “industry”.
tl;dr the statistics you quoted are questionable at best, and irrelevant at worst.

Their nice photos(the graphics look good for SL standards, too good)but does all this avatar’s ‘supporters’ have to spam this forum of how great this avatar is, and one different opinion sends them hopping all over this page? The literature looks like a biography more than an article and the quotes almost serve as a cover-up for a topic that’s loosing itself. An avatar sharing what they role-play in SL under the Post 6 Models feature page and her ‘associates’ lame drama in the comment section ruins the theme here.
What was done above was a criteria of opinion, not a foot-handling comment which Slers are so use to having in Second-Life. To expect total strangers to somehow “know” what it is “all about” on a open forum of one avatar is absolutely silly. Be glad your friend had the opportunity to be hosted on this Post 6 Model section and move on.

When I log into SL, my brain is mash, I have worked full time in a stressful job, cooked and cleaned after work. I just let my breath out and sink down in front of the laptop or stationary. Write a Pulitzer-prize winner? Give me a break. It is also hard to think in a different language when you have 1-2 hours left of an stressful day.
Ok, back to the pictures. I often say negative things about them, but not this time. Timothy has done a better job on this post, and on Nelsons pictures. There are a few things I would do different, like the last picture where I really like the background and the pose. But the right edge is a bit overexposed. Small stuff. I give the pictures a strong 8 of 10.
The avatar looks good, surely she is not unique but who is. We are all influenced by things around us. And this purple Demoness has a good shape and know how to pose.
