by Alphaville Herald on 31/10/09 at 7:00 am
This week the Alphaville Herald is proud to present a special parade ofpast Post 6 Grrrls as a Halloween Treat for its readers. The finalHalloween Treat is Tavasha Martynov, who was originally photographed byMarilyn Murphy in March 2007.
[Imet Tavasha Martynov because she happened to be online and in the Post6 group when a friend of mine needed some models for a project. I wasstunned by Tavasha's looks and her charm and her sense of style. It isand honor to present Tavasha Martynov, Post 6 Grrrl. -Timothy Morpork]
Heythere! Wow, it seems like not long ago at all I was writing up asimilar article for my first Post 6 spread, I never expected two and ahalf years to fly by so fast! It occurs to me as I try to concentrateon what I've been up to since my first shoot, that since it happenedwhen I was a ripe young two weeks old in SL, that time period wouldinclude most everything I've done in SL! hehe where to start…
So much has changed! New friends are in mySL, old friends are gone, some are still around, textures keep gettingbetter, sculpties are in, bouncing boobies are here, welcome to thefuuuture! Largely, though, my SL is the same, at least how I approachit. I'm still very much in love with SL because of the creativity itfosters in its residents, as well as the wonderful diversity of peoplehere. While I was a bit baffled and saddened to see how much hatredstill makes its way onto the grid, well… hey, it's the internet, right?
Since my last shoot, I've definitely flourished as faras my creativity goes. I pretty quickly established my TavWear bikinishop (shameless plug) and had a blast doing it, but I have to behonest, while I love toodling around in Photoshop and making clothes, Idon't enjoy doing it as a SL job. Now, I mostly just play around withmy own things, customizing my avatar and my home. Come to think of it,I don't really like any SL job. For me, SL is where I come to relax, meet amazing people, and visit amazing places. I absolutely loveexploring, even though I don't do it nearly enough these days. Seeingimpressive builds spurred me to learn to build, and I discovered a deepfondness I have for grungy urban sims. As a result, the skybox area Ibuilt myself is a cute little run down street with my loft on it. I'mlucky enough to be surrounded by loving and supportive people, and mySL would be nothing without them. What's life, any life, withoutwonderful people to spend it with?
I'mstill a huge gamer and nerd, honestly if it's in any way geeky, chancesare I've been interested at some point. I actually spent quite sometime in various RP sims and had a wonderful time. I still contend thatSL is the best medium (that I've found) for quality RP, includingconventional MMORPGs, tabletop RPGs, etc. The creativity, passion, andeloquence you can see in some areas is just staggering, and I love it.There could be some refinements, but it is still far and away the bestquality I've found. This could just be me, since I'm a much moreeloquent writer than orator, but I digress… I don't RP much anymore, since I simply don't have the time to commit to it.
Sowhat does Tav, the now (SL)jobless and non-RPing wonder do with hertime? This hasn't changed since my first second in SL, SHOPPING! Iabsolutely adore shopping, just to see the wonderful bits peoplecustomize their look with just blows me away, to this day. Oneimportant lesson I've learned in SL as it pertains to shopping: if yousee someone with something you like, tell them! Everyone loves acompliment, and are happy to oogle over that pair of shoes/bathingsuit/skirt/whatever with you! I've met some of my best friends in SLthis way, but in the end I suppose it's all about just taking the timeto realize that there are people behind avatars (which is apparentlyquite hard for some people), and simply smile, say hi, and see where ittakes you.
Quickly,I'd just like to thank all of my friends here in SL, the Herald, itsreaders (even the meanies in the comments, you know who you are! ),and LL for making it such a crazy ride of self discovery for me. Inclosing, I'm going to quote the venerable Abraham Lincoln's famouswords, "Be excellent to each other!"
Yeah, I did that.

You seem like a nice lady. Work on your shape. You still have that newbie p0rn star look. Crank the cup size down to something RL realistic, make the transition from waist to hips more realistic. You could be a gorgeous avvie. Don’t be afraid to put some “body fat” on there. A bit here and there can make all the difference in a woman’s shape.

Mary Elizabeth, you and the others are just jaded and hateful bitches. She looks wonderful, full hips and all.
Whats with all this hate, and I mean honest to god HATE with a capital H in sl lately over tall avs, busty avs and avs that dont seem to meet your approval? I puke when i see short flat chested almost kid like avatars. Maybe thats what you like but a lot of us DONT FUCKING LIKE IT!
Bring on the big breasts and hips and curves and crank that slider up to high. I for one hand out my custom avs shapes to every midget I meet because of nazis like you. Maybe I’ll send you one as well.
Go suck a lemon because I’m sure your av looks it. Tav don’t change a thing and don’t listen to the harpies.

Nice ‘render clouds’ filter there, buddy. Bet that took some real fucking photoshop talent there!

I agree that full hips are wonderful. It’s just that Tav needs to adjust the transition between hips and waist. She looks like she was drawn based a teenage boy’s imagination of what a naked woman looks like.
A few tweaks are she could be gorgeous.

I just wanted to thank everyone for the great comments! I appreciate the advice on my shape, it’s actually kind of funny that you mention these specific points, because all of the previous versions of my shape have been very grounded and realistic with much more realistic hips and breasts. It hadn’t changed a whole lot from my shape in the first Post Six shoot I did (I think the link is up at the top there?), except in the face department. Lately I’ve been feeling like doing something more classically SL and over the top, and I asked some male friends what they’d change on my shape, and surprise surprise, that’s what you get! LOL
One other thing I was excited to do, though, was show that it’s possible to get the effect of an extremely large chest without resorting to often gaudy and wardrobe-destroying prim breasts. Believe it or not, they’re a full 10 points away from the max size. Thar isn’t the only slider there, and far from the only one that affects the illusion of size!
Aaaanyway, you’ll be happy to know I do have a more “realistic” look, too. Feel free to say hi in-world and we can hang out. Thanks everyone again for the compliments and advice. *hugs*
