Fayette Aeon — Post 6 Grrrrrl

by Alphaville Herald on 23/03/11 at 10:40 pm

My better half was out shopping one day and met Fayette Aeon when she noticed that they were both doing the same circuit of stores. The two hit it off, and with some cajoling, Fayette agreed to pose for Post 6. It is an honor to introduce the lovely and talented Fayette Aeon, our friend and now, Post 6 Model. ~Timothy Morpork

Fayette Aeon Final 1

Hiya!

My name is Fayette Aeon but I usually just go by Faye. My rez day is the 16h of November 2007. I love to go exploring, dancing and shopping. I used to do a lot of vampire role-playing before my group dissipated because of real-life needs.

I made a few friends when I first got to SL that I have been able to call my best friends. They are the ones out of my old list of 200 friends that actually stuck around and have my back. Now I have fewer friends but of better quality. If you ever want to chat me up please IM me and I am sure we will find something in common.

Fayette Aeon Final 2

As of late I take pictures, which I have been practicing and enjoying as a hobby for over 3 years now. I also do a little role-playing on a Firefly sim called Hale's Moon. When I am not role-playing or hanging out with friends I am working on my blog. My blog is more for me to keep busy, and work on other whatnots. (http://fayes-fantastic-fashions.blogspot.com/)

I love hanging out with my friends, finding new fashions and organizing my inventory. I also enjoy making new shapes for myself and friends if they want one. I try to make shapes that are either different or, sometimes, something realistic. Anything creative, I try to do. Building I kinda enjoy but don't have the patience to keep it going.

Fayette Aeon Final 3

I am a very outgoing person, who loves to make friends. My friends do range in personality. My friends have told me that I am a nice person, that I own at least one of everything in SL, and have a great fashion sense. I think sometimes they just say that to be nice, but I honestly don't mind. I am in my mid 20s, currently live in Cambridge, United Kingdom and am interested in almost anything.

Bad pics.Poses, lights, background … yawn.

Boring avie, the freakish ears don’t make it any bettter. Oooh girl, you’re such a rebel! Not.

Super uninteresting write-up. What does she do? Ah, yes, she likes to go shopping, dress her pixel doll, explore the grid … oh yes, and used to do some mild RP. Didn’t you know RP is for bored (boring) people?

Congrats, that’s all super and makes this one really stand out from the crowd ;/

    What? Are you serious?
And I suppose that coming here and leaving nasty comments for people is for winners like you?

I’ve read your assdribble comments here for months and thought “What a horrible bitch.” For you to knock all roleplayers as “boring” is a new level of drivel. Thank you for crossing the line and making me respond.

Roleplay is based on creativity, and it is a natural part of the human condition. Whether you are using some science fiction based platform already constructed by an author, or creating your own reality for others to play in (ie one of the many SL armies), roleplay is a great way to exercise creativity, and, as ANYONE BUT YOU knows, it’s how human beings learn best. Children naturally roleplay scenes all the time- army, house, cops and robbers- it’s how people of all ages socialize, experiment, learn and play.

Seriously Orca, you come off like you think you’re the judge almighty, but your ignorance, meanness and lack of depth of thought shine through post after post, like your brilliant observation about twins last week.

Please go away, no one here likes you.

Aww, Faye is very pretty, and I can’t fault anyone that does Firefly RP (Rabid Browncoat here). :)

I like the ears, I have some similar, and they’re fun to wear around. And I seriously want that hair… too cute!

    @ Romulan:

Yes, I’m a bitch, and damn proud of it! I can’t help it if this Post6 was one of the worst ever.

No, never considered myself to be a winner, winning is for assholes anyway.

No, I didn’t crross a line, I merely expressed my opinion. If you can’t handle that or are too wound up to make the distinction it’s your problem.

Yes, RP is a great way to learn and to be quasi-creative. For kids that is. Not people of all ages, only if you stop counting at 12 (80 for boys, LOL). And even as a little girl I never roleplayed anything with guns or weapons of any sort involved. No army, robbers and police, cowboays and indians, USArmy against Viet Cong or any other unnecessarily violent shit.
And I can happily admit that roleplaying always bored me. Looking at guys emulating bad hollywood movies is not my idea of having a good time.

No, I didn’t come across like I think I’m the judge almighty. If you could please stop presenting your private thoughs as if they were universal truths, now that would be a great step towards adulthood.

No, I didn’t make a brlliant observation about twins, only a bad observation about orthography. Get your facts straight, young man.

And if no one here likes me, well, show me the figures. But don’t assume and present your assumptions as facts. Also my post was pretty harmless compared to the stuff one has to read here in the comments section all too often. And since when is the comments section a place to make friends anyway?

Good shape, the arms could be slightly longer. But full bright eyes? Full bright is almost as bad as bling. It’s tears running from her eyes… ? Same hair and skin (with tears) in all 3 pictures. A new trend lately, Post 6 models that has just one look?
Boring pictures and poses has to be a 50/50 share between the model and photographer. The model /can/ prepare with some original poses and locations. That’s often the best pictures.
Frankly, we have seen naked ok looking avatars before, we don’t go gaga over you just because you drop your clothes and stand there.

    Mar 27th, 2011

OK, the ears are a style I’ve seen in Japanese art, their sort of fantasy elves.

Naked breasts that don’t sag even a little? It’s one of those commonplaces of CGI-based art. It can be fixed in SL, needs a replacement shape.

I’m not sure my monitor set-up is ideal, but my experience is that whites and blacks need to be used carefully. Too white and you lose highlights, too black and you lose shadows. Both make it hard to see a shape.

No offence Fayette but Post 6 is well known as the most hostile place in the universe. You should have been aware of that before you stepped up (I certainly was). There’s no point complaining now. In fact compared to some I’d say you got off lightly so far although your post probably just made things worse.

By the way, arms usually have hinges in the middle called “elbows”.

It’s very easy to heckle someone’s avatar when you are posting anonymously on a message board. It takes real strength of character to show constructive criticism when you don’t like something. Unfortunately, all I ever see is people bashing
each other on the comments section for Post 6 Girl. I bet the majority of hecklers on here would hate it if someone bashed
their avatar. I am dismayed by the fact that people online and in SL are incapable of showing any compassion for other people’s feelings.

No, don’t appologize for the rude behavior, just tell her to sit here and enjoy the verbal beating.

Fayette, don’t waist your time with these people who make rude comments on here because obviously they don’t care who they hurt.

  26. Nelson Jenkins

    Mar 28th, 2011

    @ April Cordeaux

I would be delighted – no, honored to pose for Post 6 and have people make fun of my avatar, since I take virtually no pride in it except for the slight modifications I have done to the head to make it look nicer. After all, I am told that I’m a good comedian because I enjoy making people laugh. When you cling to this false reality and identify with your avatar, you not only risk being hurt from people ridiculing it, but you risk losing sight of the line between RL and SL. Most Post 6 models end up doing this and become insulted when someone negatively critiques their imaginary character.

My name on this site is the same as it is in SL. You’re welcome to contact me in-world if you wish. Hell, I’d give you my skype and we can chat sometime if you liked. There are a lot of people in SL who know my address as well, so if you did some real investigative work, you could probably find where I live as well.

Then again, I guess you don’t want to “waist” your time on that.

  27. Yep

    Mar 28th, 2011

    A nakie Tiger :P

  28. Yep

    Mar 28th, 2011

This is the type of drama that oozes out of the roleplay sims in SL.
Most people take what is said about their story with a grain of salt. It is always the roleplay models who run from the room in tears at the slightest bit of criticism.

  29. April Cordeaux

    Mar 28th, 2011

Most people understand the difference between SL and RL. An avatar can be the extension of who you are in RL or it is a way
    to live out a dream.

If someone wants to take pride in their avatar that is their choice. Just because you don’t care about your avatar doesn’t give you the right to hurt someone else’s feelings.

You people behave like the mean gang of boys in the movie “The Red Balloon.” You want to destroy what other people love. Just because you don’t understand something doesn’t give you the right destroy it.

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0048980/

  30. Nelson Jenkins

    Mar 28th, 2011

    @ April Cordeaux

I certainly don’t want to destroy what other people love. That’s the job of conservatives. I personally love and care for my avatar – I don’t take much pride in it because I’m not an egotistical douche, but I often do think of it as somewhat of my presence in this virtual world and I should make sure it’s presentable. It’s a one-way street. If I like my avatar, that’s great, and everyone should like their own avatars. If someone else hates it, that doesn’t mean that they’re insulting me or they’re causing me grief – they just don’t like my choice of avatar, and I have the brainpower to comprehend the fact that I am not my avatar, so the insult doesn’t apply to me.

Now, you may ask, but Nelson, what about artwork? Shouldn’t an artist’s work be given leeway and people shouldn’t be so negative about it? To which I say, if you want to become an artist, a writer, or anything else in life, then you have to learn how to take negative criticism. People are assholes. If you can’t live with that simple fact, then it shouldn’t be our responsibility to cater to your emotional instability. Being a nice person shouldn’t be required, legislated, or demanded.

I certainly do not understand your point, but I am still well within my right to destroy it.

  32. Orca Flotta

    Mar 28th, 2011

@ April: Again and again and again, you ppl have to learn to see the difference in being rude vs telling others the harsh reality. So, tellling poor Fayette her ears are fugly is no bashing but indeed constructive criticism. I don’t see anything wrong with voicing my opinion on a cheapo irrelevant thing as a Post6. Also, if we’d go the American way and restrict ourselves to only post bullshit politcal correct feelgood comments we’d never see better Post 6s.

There’s a reason for the most of us to not step up and pose as Post 6 model: we kow our avies are not outstanding. Orca is a nice-looking average human female hotttie, but nothing special. After 3 years of constantly mucking (ouch, see, now I tripped into the PC trap as well, as it should really say ‘fucking’) about with operations on herself she finally went the commercial route and bought a prefab shape. She also wears mass market skins and never wears prim eyelashes or fingernails. Her clothing style tends towards no-prim as well. Much too busy to go shopping anyway.
So Post 6? Although I’m definately more easy on the eye than most and have a more interesting second life to write about … I rather not.

BTW, same as Nelson I don’t have anything to hide and am not anonymous. I’m Orca Flotta in world as well.

I just followed the link to Faye’s blog … oh my, ohmyohmy, this girl actually has a nice blog and she does really really good pics. And she actually has an opinion! About things!
And she’s borderline OCD with her inventory, a character treat I like very much.
So why didn’t she concentrate on that aspect of her SL rather than the boring n00bish stuff she wrote up here?

  34. Orca Flotta

    Mar 28th, 2011

Skye D. really mustered the nerve to come up with this:

“Hey, everyone’s entitled to an opinion, right?”

    Yeah, baby, yeah!
So if you like to use it as an excuse for yourself, why don’t you allow me the same right?

Also, just joining two other misfits isn’t really expressing an opinion, just a reflection of some undefined emotions. Of the 3 of you only Romulan really stated his opinion … and he did it in smeer-campaign style, cheapest propaganda formulating, personally attacking and way below the waistline.
    FAIL! On all aspects.

  35. Skye Donardson

    Mar 28th, 2011

    @Orca

Of course you are entitled to your opinion. But there are ways of stating an opinion that aren’t unnecessarily harsh. And I find that people that hide behind the “I don’t believe in all this politically correct bullshit”, often do so in order to be intentionally rude, bitter, and hurtful.

Maybe that’s not how you really are, but that’s sure how you come off here.

And I’m not trying to come off as some goody-two-shoes. I know I’ve dropped my filter, and left some unpleasant comments on prior Post 6′s. But, it’s not something I’m particularly proud of.

  36. Yep

This moral soapboxing that you’re doing is great, but means nothing in the end. People will do whatever they like, especially on a (mostly) unmoderated blog such as this. If you can’t handle the heat, get out of the kitchen.

  38. April Cordeaux

    Mar 28th, 2011

Not everyone who posts on here uses their SL name. What I meant by anonymous was you are not posting your RL name. If people had to post under their RL name and location they would think twice about what they said about other people.

People can actually be sued for slander if they say something malicious online. The only reason you get away with it here is because you are talking about an avatar. Although I”m sure someone like Anshe Chung would sue you if you bashed her
products. She did that with youtube for showing a video she didn’t like.

Yes, you are entitled to your opinion but that doesn’t mean I have to agree to it. I am entitled to my opinion that some of you people are harsh about your comments.

  39. Nelson Jenkins

    Mar 28th, 2011

    @ April Cordeaux

Go take a law class. You can’t be sued for calling someone an asshole. That’s like Microsoft suing people who say Windows sucks.

The only way you can be sued is if you say something knowingly false to defame their character. For example, if you were to talk to one of my customers and say that I was a convicted pedophile with a scat fetish, I could sue you for defamation of character. I couldn’t sue you if you tell them that my ears look funny if they actually do look funny.

Again, being a nice person is not something that should be legislated. Get that through your dense skull, please.

I don’t disagree with what you’re saying. I’ve read this blog long enough to know that commenting here can be a treacherous thing. I just attempt (<- key word) to do it in a manner that is a less "in your face". And I don't see anything at all wrong with that.

As for not being able to handle the heat? I can more than take care of myself, thanks. :)

    @Orca said
Also, just joining two other misfits isn’t really expressing an opinion, just a reflection of some undefined emotions

Actually, reading the discussion, they seem to be providing the data you asked for, that no one here likes you. It appears to me that they were expressing their agreement to the sentiment that they don’t like you quite clearly when Hillo said:

    Orca said:
And if no one here likes me, well, show me the figures.

    /me raises hand

Then, I believe other people raised their hands, which to me means they are saying they don’t like you. I thought it was quite clear.

Which means that either you’re too narcissistic to believe that someone could dislike you, or you don’t read English very well, or you’re just really stupid. Based on the fact that you say an incredibly bitchy and hateful statement like this:

“Boring avie, the freakish ears don’t make it any bettter. Oooh girl, you’re such a rebel! Not.”

should be viewed as constructive criticism, and that anything softer would be “the American way and restrict ourselves to only post bullshit politcal [sic] correct feelgood comments,” I’d have to guess that it’s a mixture of narcissism and ego, combined with a healthy dose of the stupids, that makes you such a pleasure to hear from.

Thank you also for your views on America, by the way, and its “politcal [sic] correct feelgood comments.” You are German, ja? It’s nice of you to share with us your worldview. I might direct you to your own words, in which you implored me “If you could please stop presenting your private thoughs [sic] as if they were universal truths, now that would be a great step towards adulthood” and then explain how this is applicable to what I said, and how it would not be exactly what you’ve done by deriding what Americans might call “being nice” as “politcal [sic] correct.”

I do know that here in the states, many parents teach us what many of us call the Thumper rule, that if you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all. This is just one facet of what we call “being nice,” or what some people might call “being civil.” So while we might think a Post 6 Model could use some improvement, we might not say anything, or we might say it more nicely than the shitballs you hurl at them, such as this week’s gem “Boring avie, the freakish ears don’t make it any bettter. Oooh girl, you’re such a rebel! Not.”

Do you really think anyone believes you are trying to “improve” anything with statements like that? No, you’re clearly just being a humongous bitch and trying to ruin the model’s day. Good for you Orca, how to self-justify!

Are you saying that being nice is wrong because it is “the American way and restrict ourselves to only post bullshit politcal [sic] correct feelgood comments” Is that your private thought or are you speaking for the German people?

And please let me retract my earlier request that you go away. With each new post you show more of what a sorry person you are.

And as for a dose of reality, you said this gem.

“No, I didn’t make a brlliant [sic] observation about twins, only a bad observation about orthography. Get your facts straight, young man.”

    Well, actually you said:
I look, I count, count again, shake my head.
All I see there are 2 girls, 1 pair of twins.
For the record: 2 twins = 4 individuals.

Orthography was not involved in the least. You effed up, then owned the mistake with the barf inducing mawk cuteness of “Ooopsy, yes, sowwy, you right. Doesn’t even work in my native of german. Me confuzzled head assplodes in a fountain of soft chewey cheese” and now you’re saying it’s an orthography error?

Again, please keep posting, now that everyone knows you’re just a mean-spirited fool, your words are priceless.

    @ Romulan Reagan

Has it ever occurred to you that our kind enjoys being critical annoying twats? You know, trolls?

Your insults don’t work on us, sorry. As I’ve said before, us relatively-emotionally-stable humans tend not to get insulted when someone calls us “mean-spirited fools” or any other combination of bad words over the internet. Grow up and get over this “Thumper rule” you have embedded in your brain from childish feel-good Disney cartoons that don’t take into account what people are by nature: assholes.

Perdition fucknut. Most of them are drama whores anyways. I could only stand the place for a week. The PD is full of jerks, too – I complained to my supervisor IC about how some dipshit cop kept sexually harassing some chick I was taking a report from, and I got in trouble OOC for interfering with roleplay. Apparently corrupt cops get away with things in real life, even in front of straight-edge ones.

Then they kicked out the chief because she was making the department too “clean” and didn’t have enough corruption, so I jumped ship and never came back.

Only thing clear is that 3 ppl don’t like me. 2 of them without reasoning. Which clearly shows bad form. Proves shit!

“Which means that either you’re too narcissistic to believe that someone could dislike you, or you don’t read English very well, or you’re just really stupid. Based on the fact that you say an incredibly bitchy and hateful statement like this:

“Boring avie, the freakish ears don’t make it any bettter. Oooh girl, you’re such a rebel! Not.”

should be viewed as constructive criticism, and that anything softer would be “the American way and restrict ourselves to only post bullshit politcal [sic] correct feelgood comments,” I’d have to guess that it’s a mixture of narcissism and ego, combined with a healthy dose of the stupids, that makes you such a pleasure to hear from.”

Repeating the same hollow word capsules over and over doesn’t help your argument, not the least. Mayeb I’m narcissitic, but I know damn well that many people don’t like me. Most of them for the wrong reasons but who cares anyway?

“Thank you also for your views on America, by the way, and its “politcal [sic] correct feelgood comments.” You are German, ja? It’s nice of you to share with us your worldview. I might direct you to your own words, in which you implored me “If you could please stop presenting your private thoughs [sic] as if they were universal truths, now that would be a great step towards adulthood” and then explain how this is applicable to what I said, and how it would not be exactly what you’ve done by deriding what Americans might call “being nice” as “politcal [sic] correct.””

First, thx for highlighting my typoes and grammar mistakes, I know I’m a klutz with computahs and my english probably isn’t as perfect as your german. And being nice is different from being politically (that’s right now?) correct, but both are useless in a discussion forum.

“I do know that here in the states, many parents teach us what many of us call the Thumper rule, that if you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all. This is just one facet of what we call “being nice,” or what some people might call “being civil.” ”

And what most people in the western world call stupid. It escapes me how parents can teach their children such crap.

“So while we might think a Post 6 Model could use some improvement, we might not say anything, or we might say it more nicely than the shitballs you hurl at them, such as this week’s gem “Boring avie, the freakish ears don’t make it any bettter. Oooh girl, you’re such a rebel! Not.””

That was at least straightforward and honest. I for one hate it if I have to read statements by ameicans a dozen times to find out that benath all their well-chosen words they were just trying to insult me.

“Do you really think anyone believes you are trying to “improve” anything with statements like that?”

No, i don’t believe that. How did you get such a stupid idea?

“No, you’re clearly just being a humongous bitch and trying to ruin the model’s day. Good for you Orca, how to self-justify!”

No, I didn’t try to ruin the model’s day either. Fact is I just couldn’t care less. I criticised the whole Post 6. Don’tt they have any editors at the Herald who proofread articles before publishing?

“Are you saying that being nice is wrong because it is “the American way and restrict ourselves to only post bullshit politcal [sic] correct feelgood comments” Is that your private thought or are you speaking for the German people?”

Yes, I’m clearly stating that being nice is wrong – if done in your way! Of course it’s my private thought. I’d never speak for anyone else, last for the german people. I never liked Germany much anyway and moved away some years ago.

“And please let me retract my earlier request that you go away. With each new post you show more of what a sorry person you are.”

Thx for your empathy but I’m feeling quite contempt. Don’t worry.

“And as for a dose of reality, you said this gem.

Me confuzzled head assplodes in a fountain of soft chewey cheese” and now you’re saying it’s an orthography error?”

Yes, of course I’m still saying that. What else could it have been? Excuse me if Orthography isn’t the correct term but it surely wasn’t grammatical.

“Again, please keep posting, now that everyone knows you’re just a mean-spirited fool, your words are priceless.”

Who is more mean-spirited? The one making a harsh statement where needed or the uptight, purposely misunderstanding village sherriff who pulls all registers in order to just prove that somebody else is mean-spirited?
And who’s the bigger fool? The fool or the one responding to the fool, trying to prove the fool to be a fool?

I’m happy I managed to entertain you.
