Hard Alley To Be Cleaned Out March 10?

Failing rental revenue dooms historic Second Life sex sim
The notorious Hard Alley may be doomed by the faltering Second Life in-world economy - a shocking development for both militant protesters and forced urban roleplay fans who are likely to lose a formerly vital venue.
Hard Rust - the owner and mastermind of the Hard Alley experience for over 5 years - has been circulating a notecard warning that he can no longer cover his expenses from rentals and donations. Unless an investor with deep pockets steps forward soon, the sim is slated to close in early March.
We can only hope that well connected fanboys will prevail on their special Linden friends to save this historic site so that future generations of noobies can experience the finest Second Life has to offer. As this priceless artistic treasure's fate hangs in the balance the world looks toward "thought leaders" such as Prokofy Neva and Dusan Writer for hope. Oh wait -- did they check out too?
After 5 years, Hard Alley can no longer cover expenses
The closing is the latest chapter in a series of sim shutdowns that threaten historic Second Life landmarks - and ultimately the viability of Linden Lab's virtual world. While Linden Lab is unwilling or unable to reduce land "tier" fees, virtual world entrepreneurs such as Mr. Hard Rust are increasingly hard pressed to cover their costs from revenue earned in the virtual economy. The economic pressures are intense, with regions running $295/month USD and Linden Lab showing little sign of cutting costs to stimulate demand. For all but the most wealthy, the long term outlook is grim.
After the sim is gone, how long will the Hard Alley web site last?
If the virtual sex and land rental business is failing to cover expenses, what is left for the Lab? More importantly, where will the Hard Alley Reform School and School Girls Gone Bad inmates be housed?

Me and my pal DjQuad Radio have pooled our resources amp put together a consortium of like-minded Second Life entrepreneurs and are slapping together a proposal to save Hard Alley. Our presentation will include a bid of 9 (NINE) Linden dollars cash San Francican monies, payable to the SL account with 2L$ at the time of land transfer and the balance of 7L$ five years hence in 2017. Further, Rust must agree to an official name change of the dump in question to Turd Alley, Second Life’s original a$$hole lol.

If all the pervs, stalkers and yiff sims were closed Second-Life would shortly exit itself afterwards

Well apparently it’s not shutting down. This just got released over their group:
“Group Notice From: Hard Alley Reform School, Hard Rust
Despite the rumors that are circulating, we are not closing. In fact, we’ve added three new RP areas and things are more fun than ever. Cum enjoy SL’s ORIGINAL SIN, and have some perverted RP fun!
Thank you ALL for your continued support!

Oh, dear. Once again, there is a lag with articles of significance. The irony is that SL is as ripe for the exposure of it’s amusingly fallible masters many mishaps as ever!
Also, what of other virtual worlds? I think some ads in ‘situations vacant’ are much needed by the Herald.
It has turned into a chat room for the less mature in the Comments sections.

I think the question isn’t hard alley, the question is Alphaville Herald going shut down March 10th?

Holy Moly!
Hey. What is going on here? It is already March 11th and it appears as though Hard Alley is still around.
Somewhere, a wire has been crossed and the Alphaville Herald people demand to know the truth of this situation. Film at 11.

Recently at a meeing IRL with the owners of 2 Major Sports teams who both are looking into Virtual Worlds and expanding thier internet footprint. When SL was brought up (not by me) almost right away it was turned down because…
Owner #1 said;
“We have looked at Second Life and were not impressed, all it is is porn and cyber sex”
Owner #2 said;
“Not to mention they have been ripping off our team Logo’s and Trademarks for years and the service provider has been unable to put a stop to the theft. I will Never give them one cent of my teams advertizing budget.”
I had to bit my bottom lip to stop from Laughing out Loud. Guess Linden Lab should hold onto Hard Alley and the rest of the smut sim now if they plan to make any more $ with Second Life while residents masturbate.

LOL you are about as credible as a midget in a he-man contest.
Why you ask? By way of reading your sloth of blabber over the years, one would hardly believe YOU of all people could hold enough stature to be meeting with the “owner” of anything; well perhaps it would be more believable if it was the owner of a tenement, mental institution or partyvan.

I wish the herald would write a piece about absentee landlords in second life. Prokofy has not logged in for a long time. Her blog has turned off all comments, so she is probably traveling. We didn’t get any warning and now nobody can return things on some land.
