Alliance Navy Base Becomes Furry Death Camp

Mercz and /b/ form alliance to take over Alliance Navy’s Emit Time base
/b/’s short lived Fursecution concentration camp

Arbeit Macht Fur

June 20 was a bad day for the Alliance Navy of Second Life. Behind on land tier payments, they lost control of half their Emit Time sim base to forces aligned with another militia – the Merczateers. Even worse, a clan of /b/ griefers set up a furry concentration camp on the former AN base, and began masquerading as the AN.

AN’s trouble began about 1:25 AM SLT June 20th when one quarter of the Emit Time sim – and half of the Alliance Navy base – was placed up for sale and was promptly bought by the “Ailiance Navy” – the first i appears as a capital letter in an attempt at deceiving the casual observer. Three members of the Ailiance Navy (or AiN) maybe familiar to Herald readers: IntLibber Brautigan of Brautigan & Tuck Holdings, Ethan Schuman of the Merczateers militia, and Tizzers Foxchase, who is associated with the /b/ and Woodbury University.

After a brief chat with last week with Tizzers Foxchace (who is now serving time with the banned), I spoke at length with Ethan Schuman about how his group was able to take over the Alliance Navy’s base and turn it into a parody of the AN. While Mr. Shuman was not pleased with all of the /b/’s actions, I learned that Mr. Shuman felt collaborating with the /b/tards was a small price to pay for the victory over the AN .

Defending the world?

It may not be surprising that the Furry death camp only lasted a few days before the Linden game gods removed it and handed out a number of bans. The police blotter friday showed that the Lindens had been busy in Emit Time sim – though some might wonder at this, since Emit Time is on a private estate.

Mr. Schuman whisked me up to a plywood platform in the stratosphere so that we could talk without being hit by the boxes of organic cornmeal the /b/tards were shooting while riding an iconic /b/ vehicle – the screaming longcat. Protip: turn your speakers off if there is any chance of a screaming longcat in the vicinity.

AN’s new nieghbors

Ethan Schuman: I was who found out about the fact that the Alliance Navy didn’t actually own the lease on this half of their land, and who came up with the idea to buy it. Anyways, after I found out that the AN didn’t own this half of their land, I talked to the guy who did. He’s a good friend of mine.

Pixeleen Mistral: and?
Ethan Schuman: When the Alliance Navy lost their sim, it was because of the fact that they didn’t have enough money to pay for it. He gave them money, and gave them this quarter of the sim. In return, he was not compensated, nor was he even thanked, and he was treated quite badly by them. When I talked to him, he was having financial troubles. That sort of treatment is typical on the part of AN. He was in need of cash, and I saw an opportunity to strike at AN through unconventional methods.

Pixeleen Mistral: well, going after their finances is really post-modern. so then what happened?
Ethan Schuman: So, I united a group of like minded individuals, including IntLibber Brautigan, Aryte Vesperia, and Anthony Lehane, and the four of us purchased the plot at full price for the remaining term of the lease. It is important to note that all of us paid from our personal funds, not group money.

An_2
AIliance or Alliance – which is doper?

Pixeleen Mistral: did you tell anyone, or do this quietly?
Ethan Schuman: We did it quietly, though IntLibber had the idea to start up another military group next door. The rest of us just wanted the chance to take the land plot and return all their stuff. Anthony and I particularly enjoyed it because of what was done to the Merczateers Kremlin oh so long ago

Pixeleen Mistral: so payback was sweet?
Ethan Schuman: I should note that IntLibber funded the majority of the buyout, the rest of us put in smaller amounts, with my own donation just a token amount.

Pixeleen Mistral: this is interesting – it took a loooong time to spring the trap
Ethan Schuman: Payback was delicious. The reaction of the Alliance Navy has ranged from name calling, threats of legal action, to flat out harassment. But then again, when you consider the absolutely despicable behavior of Admiral Harlequin Salome, who personally banned me from all AN land and spread untrue rumors that I was sexually harassing AN members simply because I KNIFED him…

Pixeleen Mistral: good lord
Ethan Schuman: …their reactions have been par for the course. Their Marine Commander actually told me I could “Go die in a hole.” Not very commendable behavior

Pixeleen Mistral: well, they are under a lot of stress now
Ethan Schuman: The bottom line is that we beat them, fair and square, in a field of battle they are not used to fighting on (the intellectual battlefield), and which they are poorly equipped to do so.

Mercz_004
/b/ looking for furries

Pixeleen Mistral: that is why I said this was really post-modern – its the cyber-war instead of the grunt war in the trenches
Ethan Schuman: A popular joke amongst those of us familiar with the AN is that it’s only cheating if the AN’s opponents think of it first.

Pixeleen Mistral: financial people can be warriors too, I guess
Ethan Schuman: In this case, I saw a weakness on their front, I gathered my troops, and I exploited it (while remaining well within LL terms of service and traditional rules of engagement), and we were victorious.

Pixeleen Mistral: so once you had the AN’s land – you let the /b/ people loose on it?
Ethan Schuman: Though, I must add that I’m not personally happy with the presence of the Woodbury/PN/griefer crew down below us, though they are here at the whim of IntLibber, and as he paid for most of this…

Pixeleen Mistral: ok – so that is IntLibber’s doing
Ethan Schuman: The original intent was supposedly to form a parody group and run around acting like idiots. I should rephrase. IntLibber took measures to try to make the new group a legitimate military faction. I don’t think he anticipated the explosion of /b/tardery that has manifested itself. The only reason I remain in the group is because I have owner rights, and have the ability to reign them in if they get too far out of hand.

Pixeleen Mistral: how far is too far?
Ethan Schuman: Well, I won’t go into specifics, but the Alliance Navy admiralty are culturally diverse in real life, and symbols of hatred such as swastikas are things I won’t tolerate anywhere. There is a double standard here, as the Alliance Navy admiralty sanction acts such as slander, and once went as far as to crucify an effigy of Aryte Vesperia, who is a devout Christian IRL. However, even with those actions, I will not allow anything of similar sort to be employed.

Mercz_006
/b/ trooper

Kovirr Hesse: I remember that. . . lol. Don’t forget the head on the pike.
Ethan Schuman: The Alliance Navy are masters of spin and deception, and if you speak with them, they will downplay or ignore the immoral and unethical actions they routinely stoop to in an effort to demoralize, bully, and break their opponents.

Pixeleen Mistral: ic
Ethan Schuman: Speak with anyone who has ever been a target of one of their campaigns of intimidation, and you will discover them for the treacherous snakes that they are.

Pixeleen Mistral: they certainly have enemies but you may have shown that they are not as powerful as some thought
Ethan Schuman: The AN is quite formidable on the battlefield, but if you take their guns away and make them fight with strategy, logistics, and intellect, their typical defense is to stick their fingers in their ears and scream until their faces turn red. Kind of like what they do when you defeat them in battlefield combat, but that’s beside the point. This event really bothered them. It was to the point where Harlequin Salome decided to leave SL for a while, though he was back after only a few hours.

Fursecution_2
Ethan Schuman has a sweet feeling right now

Pixeleen Mistral: anything else you want the Herald readers to know?
Ethan Schuman: It is VITALLY important to note that our intent was not to unlease the hordes of… however you wish to classify the mess below us… onto the Alliance Navy, and that this is a private venture. We simply wanted to smack them in the face and go “OH YEAH!” in the Kool Aid man voice.

Pixeleen Mistral: well, I think you did that and there may be some collateral damage as well
Ethan Schuman: Some, which is unfortunate, I will admit.

Pixeleen Mistral: but that is really IntLibbers doing
Ethan Schuman: That little mess is his venture, though I’ll be heading down there to help clean it up later on. The Alliance Navy leadership are dishonest, cowardly, hypocritical, and they have no honor. Something like this has been a long time in the coming, and I’m personally quite honored to have been Karma’s hammer.

Wow. This story has everything! Furries, death camps, broadly offensive behaviour, /b/tards, anarcho-capitalists, land swindles, tier beaters, communists, edu-sims, intellectual debates, primmy avatars, Lindens, bans, and of course a deadpan hardboiled virtual reporter! — I mean, only the “ageplay” is missing!

It should be taught in journalism school about how to cover virtual worlds.

    Bah, Mootykips, you loved it.

To add to Ethan’s descriptions of AN crimes in the past, they recently launched a military attack on the combat sim of Badnarik from the basement of the World Trade Center memorial site, two sims away, apparently intentionally to offend the memories of those who died on 9/11.

They have attacked civillians in civillian sims many times in the past, launched attacks from civillian sims, and have also griefed the stock exchanges of SL.

Despite claiming to adhere to their self-authored and self-interpreted laws of war (which are strangely in absence these days), when I, the estate owner of Badnarik, Salamis, Nolan and Friedman, complained to Admiral Harlequin Salome about his troops offensive and rule-breaking behavior, I have repeatedly been told to “suck my ____”. Conduct unbecoming an officer, to say the least.

The AN really are nothing more than griefers in uniform, and are a disgrace to those of us who have actually given service in uniform in RL to whatever nation we are citizens of, as well as to those who have died in uniform serving their nations and the cause of freedom in RL.

I don’t like inviting the /b/tards in to parody the AN, and they certainly are unwilling to stay to script. But frankly, at this point, I see little qualitative difference between them and the AN. The AN tend to crash my sims more frequently than the /b/tards do anyways.

A few minor corrections: The purchase was a collaborative venture on the part of three major investors paying from personal cash and acting on their own accord. There was no official group affiliation (though groups opposed to the Alliance Navy were delighted to see it happen), even with the position of the investors mentioned. I myself have parted ways with the Merczateers, though still collaborate with them when we have mutual interests such as this.

Another major note I should make is that I did NOT sanction or condone the /b/tard behavior. I protested to IntLibber about the employment of the folks that were, however I have found a handful among the many to be diamonds in the rough, as it were.

(This comment posted with Proteus Hand’s 10:53 comment the last visible, though I’m quite confident other posts have been made.)

Sorry, the first macro-comment isn’t from your ‘buddies’ across the camp, but everyone’s open to accusations.

Now, there are a number of points raised in this article that are, whilst still relatively well informed, are not entirely true. I’m positively disgusted, for one, that anyone should allow such fascist jerk-offs to even begin to use their land for demonstrations of neo-Nazism. You allied yourselves with the /b/tards, and yet you’re the winner? What kind of victory were you aiming for?

I find it hilarious that you condemn the AN High Command of anti-social behaviour and then go to do something like this. “But I said I didn’t agree with it” you say. Why, then, did you fund it? As you pointed out, you did yourself make a token donation towards the purchase of the land.

And why is IntLibber still on the grid? This is not the first time he’s pulled a stunt like this, and I can assure you it won’t be the last. Constant harassment is one thing, but anti-racial imagery? The Lindens seem so hesitant of banning creeps like this solely because of their Land-ownership. Of course, why would they ban anyone that is paying them hefty sums in Land Tier? Miscarriage of justice.

There were some interesting versions of Mr Kuhn’s story (Oops, there’s a name) brought to the front before he left. Of course, they may be utterly fantastical, but once he started making accusations of RL Blackmail things got a little frosty. True or not, this seems to be getting a little too serious on the Merczateers part.

I’ve been wondering why the Merczateers resort to such behaviour (yes, I am targetting this at them. After all, Ethan Schuman, IntLibber Brautigan, Anthony Lehane… anyone who denies their overall influence as a group is frankly delusional) for some time now. Why would a military Role-Play group who frequently laud themselves as ‘the best’ (at least, according to a recent speech written by one Proteus Hand) need to stoop to such tactics as intimidation, public ridicule and anti-social propaganda? For example, long have Admirals Harlequin Salome and Nanao Mahfouz been the butt of everyone’s anti-AN commentary, but now it’s just too easy to go ahead and say “They treated our guy badly” after they didn’t whack him up a few ranks for volunteer work, á la Merczateers. Too many of the recent AN leavers have been wondering why they didn’t get hefty promotions for their work, despite never having even been hinted at this course of action.

I am frankly shocked and saddened that a group would need to go so far to bite back at a group that caused them humiliation through simply being better at what they do. As I see it, the Merczateers are over-stepping their boundaries a little, and taking things far too seriously.

Again, you call this a victory?

To elaborate on my last comment, regarding PN and WU’s involvement, intLibber has tried to get us on his good side for a long time. he wants us to attack Anshe Chung:

[20:24] IntLibber Brautigan: Now if you want to be really helpful, though I don’t expect you to be, why does Anshe Chung give you free reign of her land?
[20:24] Alyx Stoklitsky: Dunno, never been there.
[20:25] IntLibber Brautigan: more lies, the last 5 bases were on Chung land
[20:25] Alyx Stoklitsky: Oh. Wouldn’t know. I don’t sit there staring at the land properties window all day.
[20:26] IntLibber Brautigan: ask your buddies who made the deal with her
[20:26] Alyx Stoklitsky: whenever the n***** feel like building a new FL, they just say “find some none-return land”
[20:26] IntLibber Brautigan: ask them how long their mole has been in Furnation
[20:27] Alyx Stoklitsky: deal? rofl. We assaulted her with flying penises and had her husband file lawsuits against youtube.
[20:27] Alyx Stoklitsky: I can’t see her making deals with us.
[20:27] IntLibber Brautigan: Furnation’s legal chief tried to do a deal with you guys too.
    [20:27] Alyx Stoklitsky: Corsi Mousehold?
[20:27] IntLibber Brautigan: sure she does, cause she thinks like a chinese
[20:27] IntLibber Brautigan: chinese people pay off trouble
    [20:27] IntLibber Brautigan: always have

He expects us to do his bidding by crashing his financial rivals, essentially using us a personal army. Also lol @ racism.

[21:31] Me: Still, atleast the meeting ended before PN could get there. They had 2 n***** on the way.
    [21:31] IntLibber Brautigan: he he
[21:31] Me: We only got wind of it about 20 minutes ago.
[21:32] IntLibber Brautigan: too bad, Philip and Claudia really would have gotten pissed.
[21:32] Me: Yeah, Sim has build and script enabled.
[21:32] IntLibber Brautigan: might have actually done something for a change
[21:32] Me: We could have crashed it in a split second
[21:32] IntLibber Brautigan: electric sheep are notoriously lax on security
[21:32] IntLibber Brautigan: surprised you guys don’t grief there more
[21:32] Me: sim is usually empty.
[21:34] IntLibber Brautigan: plenty of sheep sims that are buildable
[21:34] Me: O rly? Can’t say they’re even on our radar. Never heard of them to be honest.
[21:35] IntLibber Brautigan: theyre a really big estate company
[21:35] IntLibber Brautigan: do a lot of RL corporate deals
[21:35] IntLibber Brautigan: they manage the CBS sims for the show The L Word
[21:35] Me: That would make them your competitor then
    [21:35] IntLibber Brautigan: not really
    [21:35] IntLibber Brautigan: different markets
[21:35] Me: Still, you’d crack a smile if they suffered, wouldn’t you? Tongue
    [21:35] IntLibber Brautigan: nah
[21:35] IntLibber Brautigan: I’m just saying
[21:36] IntLibber Brautigan: you guys waste your time on little guys
[21:36] IntLibber Brautigan: if you want publicity, you should shoot for bigger targets
[21:36] Me: The little guys often cry the loudest – just to deaf ears.
[21:39] Me: Still, thanks for the info We do it for the lulz.

When he was rebuffed by PN (the whole failed cyberstalking, threatening with ‘FBI involvement’, and personal threats against me and N3X15 sort of turned us off to the whole idea), he turned to the more sympathetic WU – I suppose in an attempt to befriend them by using /b/ memes, all that stuff. This whole fur death camp thing is another example. Intlibber is engaging in shady business practices, reminds me of a old 1920s businessman trying to hire the mafia to take down his competitors. This is completely the reason why he’s in on it.

Not surprising though – Corsi Mousehold, head of FurNation in SL has tried to “hire” us as well by attacking other furry estates and not FN, bribing us with land. Look at how that turned out though, seems their website mysteriously went down during Longcat Shield for a few days while their sims were eating lolcubes.

I’ve gone off-topic, however. If the court has no objections…

The whole thing is kinda funny, but it just goes to show how crazy serious SL militaries are getting, that the battles seem to be stepping out of the “let’s just shoot each other with virtual guns” area to “lets really slander each other’s real life, try to psychologically oust our opponents, insult them any chance we can get, jump on any chance to hurt them financially, and then maybe at some point between all this, we’ll shoot each other with virtual guns.”

The Alliance Navy have even gone to lengths such as banning members of High Command for no reason. I try to IM a member of AN HC, but they do not respond as to why I am banned from their sim. This will all end soon… Don’t you worry…. >:P

Someone help me get this big picture here…

The AN forfeits their right on a plot of land. Another group buys the land and sets up a concentration camp for furries.

So, instead of condemning what we actually know is wrong – and for those who not know I shall add it’s the fact that there is a concentration camp set up – the SLH merely points out that the fact LL removed items and handed out bans is somewhat strange for this is private land.

And not mentioning this at all anymore, it gives room for numerous unchecked facts, which apparently noone in the AN was asked to comment about.

Who will Harle go to now, when The Woofer (now known as Dorien) is three months behind on tier? Their Tethys base was also subject to some urban renewal lately. Eventually they’ll be restricted to their quarter sim in Emit Time, the only question is whether they’ll still have the ‘other’ AN as neighbors…..

    Hahaha!

Granted, done in poor taste, but very creative!

I think I can safely say (at least from a grunt’s point of view) it is about “just shooting one another with virtual guns.” Afterall, that is about the only interaction I’ve had with the Alliance Navy. Again, though, that’s from the take of an enlisted man.

This is the first I’ve heard about this Furry Death Camp thing, granted, I do not spend a great deal of time on SL.

Seriously though fellas, aren’t we taking this all a wee bit too seriously? I agree, poor taste, but sometimes the best satire and humor is done in poor taste.

I had a long winded reply to the comments above, but I will simply say this:

While you may think the “Furry Death Camp” was offensive, it was an expression of an opinion regarding a lifestyle choice consciously made by individuals. While I wasn’t there on Thursday or Friday before the Linden nuke hit and three of our people were suspended, that I probably wouldn’t have been pleased by it. However, all of us have opinions on the various lifestyles and the way others enjoy their Second Life. Furries, Goreans, military groups, police groups, ageplayers, Dark RP (Toxia) players… those are just some of the categories. All of us have made a conscious choice on how we will enjoy our Second Life, and all of us have opinions, voiced or not, about the way others enjoy theirs. The “atrocity” that you all think merits massive bannings is simply the way a select few /b/tards chose to express their opinion, and while it may have been done in poor taste, it was still their opinion, that they had the right to express however they wished (within reason), on the land that we allowed them to do so.

On a personal note, the reason I made that token investment, is so I could have group owner powers and control on the land, in case anything SERIOUSLY offensive came up (which, in a few cases, it did, and it was promptly removed).

As for those of you who believe the instigators of this action should be banned, we acted completely within the Linden Lab terms of service, and had the sanctioning of the sim owner to purchase the lease.

With regards to AN’s side of the story, I’d quite like to hear what they have to say. Of course, with so little to spin here, it’s unlikely we’ll see much of them, as the AN tends to stay away from damaging stories that they have little to no chance to manipulate into something positive.

I’d have to agree with Tharik as far as the bad taste of this satire. It sure was funny, though!

After numerous interactions with both the Mercz and the AN I can say that they both have the proverbial “chip” on their shoulders and questionable attitudes in general. The Mercz just seem to be able to execute it better!

I will say this goes to show that you’re only a griefer if you’re alone. If you have others on your side then you’re an SL army!

If theres one thing obvious, Linden labs does not support free speech and only listens to the unwashed masses.

    Ethan:

Frankly, I couldn’t care less if some twits build a “Furry Deathcamp” on their land. However, you can’t say that “a couple of people” built an entire deathcamp, especially on another guy’s land. This was an organized act with the group’s approval and assistance. Not two goobers putting a few prims together and calling it a doghouse.

You don’t like Furries? Don’t put on a furry AV and keep out of Luskwood. Don’t like the wargamers? The fantasy crowd? The Elves, trolls, goths, vampires, tinies or clogdancers? Don’t go where they hang out and leave them alone. It’s as simple as that. But consider yourself lucky that ALL that happened here was that the Lindens came down and told everyone to clean things up, probably because LL doesn’t want to get the German Media or Authorities cross with it again. Since “the few /b/tards” enjoy crashing furry sims so often, it would have been poetic justice had they gotten the same treatment themselves.

Once again a good story ruined by bad reporting. So what’s the latest? Is the camp still there? Who owns that plot? What are the plans for it? Where is the interview of the AN (which I generally don’t like anyway) to get perspective on the situation?

Is Pixeleen really just Ethan’s alt? It almost seems like it…

Aww, poor Profoky… she can’t seem to tie Lenin into this one. Maybe next time. ^^

    Actually shockwave…

It was EXACTLY that. Intlibber pretty much said, “Here, have some land! Go for it!” And I suggested the furry concentration camp idea. 95% of the builds you see there had my name on them. So no, it’s wasn’t the super organized conspiracy you make it out to be. We did it for the lulz.

When will people ever learn. Never give the /b/tards/PN ANY kind of coverage. That’s what they want. Ignore them and there will be no lulz to be had by them. The greatest weapon against these people is to ignore them completely.

Now watch all the typical *chan retorts follow this…

Perhaps this is why I find a death camp “broadly offensive” even if said camp is done against a virtual group it is a statement of hatred so intense that one side believes the other should not exist, and “deserves” to be eliminated. It also makes a mockery of the Holocaust, and more recent genocides in Rwanda, Sudan, Russia, Kosovo etc.

Ah, WitnessX, The person who is such an authority on /b/tards, that he can forecast any of our actions. Sorry bub, not happening. It wouldn’t matter if we got any coverage or not, we’d still do it.

As I say, it’s not possible to group us all together, because we’re not all the same. mootykips is some fag who loves Japanese everything, I bang on computers, and Nihilanth does… 14 year-old girls. Yet you must constantly run around preaching the stereotype that all /b/tards do nothing but spout memes all day long.

It’s said that we’re all 15 year-old idiots, yet we’re able to crash sims and still go days without being banned. Doesn’t this mean that Linden Labs can’t best 15 year-olds on their own turf? What does that say about the way they’re running things?

As for ignoring us completely, that wouldn’t work either, and isn’t going to happen anytime soon. SL is host to some of the biggest drama hounds in the world, and is full of furries, notorious for causing and chasing drama. The only way to make us stop would be to close down SL, period.

Also, I enjoy consuming fruit-filled pastries.

Ethan, are you sure you want to, as you did, publically approve of this deathcamp?

Griefing is one thing, but this goes WAY beyond bad taste. Want me to make you a nice Hitler suit to wear when you are walking around overseeing your afro toting nazi PN buddies?

It’s time the LL showed some balls and kicked all the griefer groups out once and for all. Not like we don’t know who they are, and it’s not like they’re just “Fun loving folk, not wanting to grief oh no! Only some of our members are griefers, we kick them out when we find out!”
Or similar bullshit they usually utter.
Don’t even have the balls to take what’s coming to them.

“It’s not like these guys were putting up swastikas all over the grid”

Obvious you haven’t been around for very long.

This is true. Thankfully, the lulzcows who would benefit from this advice think we give a damn about the bone they want to pick with us and try to counter with a splash attack.

Yes. Robert Mugabe’s regime is the logical outcome of bored nerds building a comedy skit set online. Mugabe is probably online at this very moment, plotting his next attempt at opening a furry death camp.
